Here are the most common Instagram posting errors and how to fix them.

1. API Request Limit Reached

  • Error: (#32) Page request limit reached
  • Reason: The profile has exceeded the API request limit based on the number of daily active users (DAP).
  • Solution: You need to wait until the limit resets. Instagram/Facebook will automatically unblock the profile after refreshing the usage window.


2. Invalid image aspect ratio

  • Error: The aspect ratio is not supported. (code 36003)
  • Reason: The image has an unsupported aspect ratio.
  • Solution: Instagram supports aspect ratios from 4:5 to 1.91:1. Crop the image and try posting again.


3. Unexpected error

  • Error: An unexpected error has occurred. (code 2)
  • Reason: Internal service error.
  • Solution: Wait a while and try publishing content again.


4. Invalid access token

  • Error: Access token is invalidated. (code 190)
  • Reason: The user changed their Facebook password or the session was terminated for security reasons.
  • Solution:
  1. Go to your Onlypult account
  2. Reconnect by logging into Facebook.


5. Unsupported image format

  • Error: Image format is not supported. (code 36001)
  • Reason: The image resolution is too high.
  • Solution: Instagram supports a maximum of 1920x1080 pixels. Please reduce the image and try again.


6. Critical Error (Anti-Spam)

  • Error: Fatal (code -1)
  • Reason: The post triggered Instagram’s anti-spam filters.
  • Solution: Edit the post - edit the text, change the image and try again. Instagram is not disclosing details on purpose.


7. Missing Permissions

  • Error: Application does not have permission for this action. (code 10)
  • Reason: The Instagram profile or Facebook page is not linked correctly, or you do not have admin rights.
  • Solution:
  1. Make sure you have the admin role on the Facebook page.
  2. Go to your Onlypult account
  3. Reconnect your account


8. Invalid or private username

  • Error: Invalid user ID. (code 110)
  • Reason: The tagged user is either a private account or has an error in their username.
  • Solution: Check if you have entered the username correctly in the post.


9. Account is restricted

  • Error: User access is restricted. (code 25)
  • Reason: The Instagram account has been blocked or restricted for violating the rules.
  • Solution: Log in to your account through the Instagram app and follow the on-screen instructions to restore.


10. Media file is not ready

  • Error: Media ID not available. (code 9007)
  • Reason: The video or image has not yet been processed by Instagram for publication.
  • Solution: The system will try again automatically. If the error persists, check the file: it may have inappropriate parameters (resolution, bitrate, format). Make sure the media meets Instagram technical requirements.


11. Post limit exceeded

  • Error: Maximum number of posts reached. (code 9)
  • Reason: The API can publish a maximum of 25 posts in 24 hours.
  • Solution: Wait until the limit is reset before publishing again.


12. Application activity blocked

  • Error: Application request limit reached. (code 4)
  • Reason: The actions were considered spam.
